A van driver from Leeds has won a bundle of Apple goods worth £4,900 which will allow him to launch a new business, thanks to lifestyle competition, BOTB.
Liam Tierney is currently at home during the coronavirus crisis, which he says has given him time to refine his idea for a new business, but the new kit from Apple, including a MacBook Pro will give him the tools he needs to get it off the ground once the pandemic has passed.
“I do van driving at the moment, but I’ve had an idea for a new vending business, it’s got a bit of a twist,” said the 30-year-old.
“Hopefully it’ll be full steam ahead for the business once Covid-19 has passed.”
Liam was given the good news by BOTB presenter Christian Williams this week over video chat.
“It was quite a surprise to get the call from Christian, I only started playing BOTB again the last few weeks after starting a year ago. You never think you’ll win really,” he said.
As well as the MacBook Pro, also included in the bundle is the iPhone 11 Pro, iPad Pro 11, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Homepod, Apple TV 4K and Apple AirPods.
BOTB’s Christian, who surprises winners weekly all over the world, was thrilled to be able to give Liam the great news.
“Knowing this prize will be able to help Liam have a go at his dream of setting up his own business makes it special,” said Christian.
“We wish Liam all the luck in the world for his new venture.”
Since being founded in 1999 by William Hindmarch, BOTB has given away over £32m worth of prizes.
