West Yorkshire based recruitment agency, Headway Recruitment, will this month celebrate its 40th birthday in spite of COVID-19 bringing the world to a halt.
Rather than celebrating in the usual way, it will be making a donation to its client, Virgin Money, in its charitable appeal to help NHS workers.
Like many other businesses in the knowledge sector, Headway has been impacted by the ongoing difficulties that are facing the world. With remote working practices in place as well as cloud-based systems, fortunately it’s been possible to adapt and overcome, continuing to work using Microsoft Teams and Facetime.
Managing director Mark Gill said: “Some positivity in amongst the current situation is just what’s needed. Whilst the firm may not be able to have a party, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the business over the years and express our sympathies to anyone who is suffering at this time.”
Established in 1980 by David Gill, Headway’s first office was located in the vibrant city of Leeds before expanding to Bradford, with a presence kept in both cities ever since.
When asked the secret of Headway’s long-term success, Mark said: “We listen to our clients and work in partnership with them. We never stop learning and innovating.
“We have seen competitors come and go and always focused on our strengths and building strong relationships across the board. Our 40 years in business is another element of our INSIGHT process. Connection with our clients and candidates over that period means we are often the first point of contact for the best candidates searching for their next move.”
The next ten years for Headway will further embrace the technology which allows human connections to be made more easily. It will also go deeper into the psychology of recruitment, with plans to build on the psychometric profiling it currently uses.
