Business advisory firm Grant Thornton has made a further investment in its Yorkshire practice with the promotion of Vicky McLoughlin to Partner.
Vicky provides audit and assurance services to mid-market businesses across the region, advising private and public clients in sectors that include manufacturing, tech, property and social housing.
The move is one of a number of promotions and appointments made in the Yorkshire team this quarter. Donna Steel and Emma Davis have joined the partnership, focused on Audit and Special Projects respectively, while Roger Burton has been recruited as a valuations specialist, who will work across the tax and corporate finance teams in the North of England.
“Confidence and trust in the marketplace are always profoundly important and the challenges we are all currently living through only underline the importance of quality in audit,” said Vicky. “I see the assurance role as particularly special. It provides a unique vantage from which to understand a business and demands that you are robust and challenging.
“My role is very focused on Yorkshire and I have every confidence in our region getting on a positive trajectory as the economy starts to return to something approaching normality,” she added. “Yorkshire has made great progress in the last five years and disruptive technologies are creating new growth opportunities across a broad spectrum of sectors.”
“I’m really proud of how our team embraces the company culture and values which then shines through to our client service. Our strong ethos of support, communication and team working, have really come to the fore during COVID-19 and enabled us to continue to serving clients without disruption.”
Mark Overfield, Grant Thornton’s Head of Audit in the North and Scotland, said: “Vicky has developed tremendous insight and breadth of experience in 17 years with the firm and is much valued by clients and colleagues alike. We are proud to see her achieve this milestone and I am confident that she will play a leading role as we continue to grow our business.”
