The Park Lane Foundation is the first Yorkshire based business to announce their involvement with #ThankfulThursdays, Leeds Cares’ campaign aiming to raise £100,000 through local businesses donating a per cent of their sales to do something wonderful for Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Money raised through #ThankfulThursdays will provide much needed support for services and departments across the hospitals, who are working around the clock to provide the best care to patients during this difficult time. It is exactly why Park Lane Foundation couldn’t wait to get involved with Leeds Cares.
Hanif Malik OBE, director at Park Lane Foundation, said: “One of our key objectives is to support charities and businesses locally. The past few months has severely affected our business, but we remain positive and look forward to the future. And this is one way we can help.”
Hanif goes on to explain why joining the Leeds Cares #ThankfulThursdays campaign is so important: “The NHS is a national institution and we have helped where we can during the Coronavirus outbreak.
“We’ve supplied over 700 meals for NHS workers and provided rooms for those who are staying away from their families, but we wanted to do more. We loved the idea of #ThankfulThursdays and we wanted to be one of the first to join.”
By donating a small percentage of their sales every month, they are hoping that this will encourage more Leeds and Yorkshire based businesses to follow suit
He added: “The impact of Covid-19 on staff, patients and even Leeds Cares will be around for a long time, and we should all be involved to help make a difference to our charities and NHS who give so much.
“Personally, and as a business leader, I hope that the positives of caring and togetherness we’ve gained during the pandemic will not be lost once things go back to normal. It is essential we keep the good will going, and that is why I would say to any business considering supporting Leeds Cares it is absolutely worth it.”
