One of the UK’s leading providers of haemodialysis products and services, B. Braun Avitum UK Ltd, is celebrating being recognised with Investors in People (IIP) silver accreditation for the first time.
It places the company, which operates nine dialysis centres across the UK, in the top 15 percent of all IIP-certified organisations nationally to achieve the silver award from the UK’s leading people management standard.
Silver accreditation recognises exceptional levels of people management practices, innovative approaches and support for people to deliver the organisation’s ambition.
Braun Avitum UK, part of Sheffield-based B. Braun Medical Ltd, have held standard IIP accreditation since 2007, and have been striving for silver since passing their last assessment in 2016.
As part of the 2020 assessment, employees were given the opportunity to complete an online survey to give their feedback on key themes, a higher than average IIP response rate of 68 per cent was achieved and staff members from across the company were interviewed to help get a real understanding of both strengths and areas to focus on for the future.
Graeme Cameron, managing director of B. Braun Avitum UK, said: “Silver accreditation really has been a fantastic achievement, especially since the assessment took part during the Covid-19 pandemic, which is undoubtedly the most challenging situation we have ever faced as a business.
“Our assessment was a great opportunity to hear from our people which helps us to keep making changes, keep improving and keep moving forward. We strive to put our people first by leading, supporting and developing them every step of the way.
“For this to be recognised goes to show that not only the right principles are in place, but it means all of us are making an active effort to make sure we’re consistent and that everyone in the organisation feels the benefit.”
