West Yorkshire CGI and animation studio Virtual Resolution (VR) is eyeing growth during 2021 after demand for virtual tours and computer generated residential imagery increased last year.
The company, which specialises in architectural visualisation, is looking to expand its team and integrate cutting-edge technology and software to increase work efficiency, particularly on more complex schemes.
Managing director Tim Power said: “We have seen a good increase in national organisations requiring virtual tours and CGIs for residential and PRS (private rented sector) schemes, closely followed by big industrial distribution sheds. This makes a lot of sense as there has been a requirement for these both during the pandemic and also moving forward, as it will take a number of years to deliver these projects.
“Companies are wanting to sell and promote properties pre-construction and, in turn, sell off-plan so things are ready for people to move as soon as possible. Our work has covered everything from new houses to product showrooms, and industrial facility tours to R&D projects. Surprisingly, we’ve also seen some good movement in the hotel sector and have a number of schemes in progress.”
Mr Power said the shift last year to home working had led them to put in place cutting-edge remote software used by companies like Blizzard and Ubisoft to give their team of 3D artists and animators instant access to the office, its facilities and its software.
The Elland-based company also put redundancy into their internet lines and switched to some of the latest hardware solutions to ease the pressure on their connectivity and give their staff rendering facilities both remotely and locally.
He said: “Our ability to adapt quickly to different ways of working during the pandemic, enabling our staff to seamlessly continue delivering for our clients, has added to our reputation of being a trusted and safe pair of hands, no matter the circumstance or challenge.
“Later this year we have planned a substantial software upgrade which will enable us to work even more efficiently and also offer additional services.”
VR was established in 2009 and specialises in the creation of high-quality visualisation and CGIs, as well as augmented and virtual reality, photomontage and verified views, 360 degree virtual tours, short film and animation, and furniture and set modelling.
The company works for clients across the UK and internationally, in sectors including residential, hospitality, leisure, retail and new technology.
