Multi-service provider achieves gold standard compliance accreditations

A Leeds multi-service provider has achieved three prestigious ISO accreditations, demonstrating its excellence in quality management, environmental processes and health and safety compliance.

Servo Group has achieved UKAS accredited ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 – which are the gold standards in quality management assurance, occupational health and safety and environmental management.

The Leeds-headquartered firm, which provides full FM services, S.I.A licensed manned guarding, CCTV, vetted and screened rail labour, property management and construction services, has undertaken a rigorous process over several months, to achieve the certifications.

Servo’s compliance manager, Jack Hill, has worked alongside HSQE consultant, Lindsey Smith from health and safety advisory firm, Smith Spence, to achieve the coveted, internationally recognised standards.

Servo has thrived since its inception, just seven years ago, and it currently employs over 1000 operatives all around the UK, with more than 30 staff based at its Gelderd Road head office. It expects that the ISO accreditations will strengthen the excellent, existing relationships it has with high-profile clients such as the NHS, Network Rail and the Environment Agency, as well as continuing to facilitate its fast growth.

Last year the multi-service provider won an eight-way tender with Confederation Primary Care Property, to provide FM services into primary care in Leeds, creating over 100 jobs.

 It hopes achieving these accreditations will lead to further contract wins and job creation both regionally and nationally.

Jack Hill said: “Achieving these accreditations has been a rigorous process but well worth the effort, as they are the three main international standards in our sectors and show our existing and prospective clients that we have the highest standards of compliance in place across all areas of our delivery. We’re incredibly proud to have obtained these certifications, especially against the backdrop of the recent pandemic and the challenges that has presented, and it’s testament to everyone’s hard work across the whole of the organisation.”

ISO accreditations confirm the high quality of a company’s compliance framework, focusing on customer satisfaction, cost reduction and regulatory requirements, but they are notoriously difficult to obtain and only awarded after rigorous scrutiny of a firm’s operational processes, systems and procedures. Less than 320,000 ISO 14001 certificates, which demonstrate excellence in environmental performance, amongst other points, have been awarded to date.

As quality control and sustainability becomes increasingly important to large businesses and public sector organisations, these management standards have become vital to provide transparency and reassurance about consistency, and Servo expect the certification to be a vital tool in its continued expansion.
