Nexus Vehicle Rental, the UK’s leading tech-driven mobility provider, has secured a new three-year contract as sole rental fleet supplier to national health and social care transport company ERS Medical.
ERS Medical has been a direct customer of Nexus since August 2017 and has extended its agreement until 2024 with a renewed multi-site, multi-rental contract providing LCVs to boost its 500-strong vehicle fleet.
Employing over 1,000 colleagues, ERS Medical provides health and social care transport services to the healthcare sector. The business values the flexibility that Nexus provides as ERS Medical caters to an ever-changing industry with tightening costs and increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions.
Given that ERS Medical works with customers from public and private sectors including the NHS and private healthcare organisations, it needs to scale its fleet continually, according to the demand facing its customers at any given time.
Due to Nexus’ unrivalled supply chain of 550,000 vehicles sourced from over 2,000 locations, it is able to provide ERS Medical with a guaranteed supply of long-term vehicles that it can flex up and down depending on its own contracts, with no penalties or extra costs.
Nexus uses innovative technology to connect customers to any vehicle, anywhere, anytime through its award-winning rental booking and management platform, IRIS. ERS Medical utilises Nexus’s centralised booking team and its IRIS software to manage bookings and service their multi-location needs, which saves time and generates efficiencies.
David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “Without a doubt, the last 12 months have been difficult for many sectors, but we are proud to have supported our key worker customers in the medical industry by keeping them moving throughout the challenges of the pandemic; helping them to scale their fleets, facilitate social distancing and – in the case of ERS Medical – support the NHS’ Covid-19 response.
“We always strive to form genuine partnerships with all of our clients, big and small, and we work tirelessly to solve problems and provide innovative solutions for our customers. We have worked with ERS Medical for four years now and look forward to continuing to support their fleet mobility needs throughout the next three years.”
Jeroen van Os, Finance Director at ERS Medical, said: “Renewing our contract with Nexus was a no-brainer for us because having the flexibility to scale our fleet up and down is crucial due to the ever-changing landscape of the healthcare and medical sector. We provide a number of services for our customers including same-day dedicated courier services to the UK healthcare sector, from the secure collection and delivery of pathological specimens to internal mail and confidential medical records.
“Nexus ensures that we are able to support our NHS clients in every corner of the UK. The IRIS system is an invaluable resource that enables us to easily up-scale and down-scale our fleet with access to hundreds of thousands of vans through one simple platform.”
