Construction work has started on the first phase of apartments at The Climate Innovation District on the riverside in Leeds city centre.
‘Aire Lofts’ is already well underway with the piling work completed, and will eventually include over 200 energy-efficient one and two-bedroom apartments in established landscaped grounds looking south across the river. Residents have access to a riverside deck and the quality of the homes being built here is evident in the first houses which are already home to over 45 families.
Prices start at £155,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, £259,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and £317,000 for a split-level two-bedroom ground floor duplex. Parking is available by separate negotiation and electric charging points are being installed as standard with every space.
Each apartment at Aire Lofts will have exposed concrete floors, services and steel ceilings, triple glazing and will be super-insulated. Every home has been designed to maximise light and space by creating largely open plan and airy rooms with southerly views and full-width sliding doors to a Juliet balcony.
Duplexes on the ground floor will have their own front door with direct access to a patio and the extensive landscaped grounds beyond.
Jonathan Morgan, City Centre specialist at Linley & Simpson with Morgans, said: “We are really excited to be working alongside the Citu team to sell the apartments at Aire Lofts.
“The Climate Innovation District is revolutionary in its approach to energy and sustainability and is already changing the way we choose to live as well as bringing new life to the riverside and this entire district of Leeds city centre. Citu’s meticulous commitment to detail and quality is evident in the houses which are already completed and occupied here.
“Early house buyers who were prepared to pull on their wellies for a few months have already seen strong capital growth and we expect the early apartment buyers to see the same as the construction of Aire Lofts progresses, more homes are delivered and the extensive green and open spaces start to take shape.
“CID will eventually be home to over 1,000 households in a new and bold community straddling the River Aire- there is nothing else quite like this in Leeds.
“Citu are to be congratulated on this development, which had already won multiple awards and which is adding a new dimension to city living, including for those who want to live a greener life. Home-makers and investors alike are already taken with Aire Lofts and early releases have been sold out. ”
