From fizz to cocktails, pink spirits say ‘party’ and are in demand from consumers seeking to celebrate post-lockdown.
Artisan Yorkshire Wolds drinks producer Raisthorpe Distillery has partnered with luxury country house hotel Grantley Hall to create its pink hued ‘Clover Club’ cocktail. The cocktail showcases the bespoke lemongrass, thyme and basil gin Raisthorpe created from the kitchen garden at Grantley Hall for Michelin star chef Shaun Rankin who has a fine dining restaurant there.
Anthony Speight, Estate Bar Manager at five-star Grantley Hall, created the cocktail using the bespoke gin, topped with homemade raspberry syrup and lemon juice and used aquafaba (chickpea water) to give it a silky mouth feel without detracting from the natural flavours.
A perfect vegan cocktail, Clover Club is best served in a coupette, garnished with raspberry powder.
Grantley Hall guests can also enjoy a ‘Damson Fizz’ featuring Raisthorpe’s warming Damson Gin which is also available for guests to enjoy at their leisure in the bedrooms.
Says Julia Medforth, founder of Raisthorpe Distillery, said: “Pink drinks are associated with feel good times and made for celebrating. After a tough 18 months, we’re all ready for a party and a touch of the roaring 20s so it’s very rewarding to see our products come to life in the hotel’s cocktails. We are sure guests will enjoy them.”
Raisthorpe is a family business, launched more than ten years ago by Julia Medforth at the family farm in Thixendale. The company produces a range of award-winning Yorkshire Tonics as well as gin liqueurs, vodkas and dry gin from its own still on the farm.
