Leeds Building Society will move into its new branch in the centre of Leeds on Monday, September 6, as part of its long-term commitment to the city.
The new premises, on Commercial Street, will be the largest branch in the Society’s national network and conveniently located in one of the busiest parts of the city.
Jaedon Green, Leeds Building Society’s chief customer officer, said: “Our business has served the local community for over 140 years and we’re looking forward to welcoming new and existing customers to our new home.
“We’ve invested a great deal of time and effort to identify a prime location in the heart of the city and were pleased to acquire the former Monsoon store, located alongside other national high street brands in the main retail centre.
“We know how much our friendly face-to-face service is appreciated by our members and the Society remains committed to providing a sustainable branch network to help our members save.”
The Society’s present city centre branch on the corner of Albion Street and The Headrow will remain open until 3pm on Friday, to minimise disruption for customers.
Leeds Building Society previously announced the city centre branch was moving as part of the relocation of its head office. Earlier this year, the Society moved from Albion Street – where it had been based for over 80 years – into its new riverside headquarters in Sovereign Street.
