Bensons for Beds is moving into a new store in Huddersfield, as part of the nationwide retailer’s transformation following £25m new investment a year ago.
The bed and mattress retailer has taken a lease on unit E1, Leeds Road Retail Park, Huddersfield, where neighbours include B&Q and Wren Kitchens.
The store opens on Friday at 10am. It has nearly 7,000 square feet of space on the ground floor, with nearly 6,000 square feet on the mezzanine, and will employ six members of staff.
To mark the occasion, Bensons will be rolling out its iconic purple carpet to welcome customers who will get an additional 10 per cent off items bought over the opening weekend.
The new concept store has been designed to showcase the full range of beds and mattresses on offer from top brands including Slumberland, iGel, Tempur and Sealy, so that customers can choose the right bed for them to help them get a good night’s sleep.
It is larger than the nearby Bensons store it replaces which it shared with Harveys until June last year when Bensons became a standalone company. The move is another step in the transformation of Bensons following the restructuring deal in 2020.
Bensons’ managing director for retailAlan Williams said: “The store is in a great location and will allow us to display our best ranges more effectively and make sure that customers make the right choice to help them sleep well and wake up in a good place.”
The store will be run by manager Tony O’Neil who has been with the business for 10 years at stores including Leeds and Wigan.
