A site manager from Barratt Developments Yorkshire East has won a top national award for the quality of the homes being built in Driffield.
Earlier this year, six site managers at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East received Pride in the Job Quality Award wins. This month, the division was thrilled to see one of them, Jay Kerman, go on to be awarded the highly coveted Seal of Excellence.
Jay Kerman, site manager at Barratt Homes’ Mortimer Park development in Driffield has landed the award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) having impressed judges with his dedication, passion, commitment and leadership.
Known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”, the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in The Job Quality Awards recognise the finest site managers from around the country.
In total, Barratt Developments site managers won 93 Pride in the Job Quality awards this year. This is the 17th consecutive year that Barratt Developments has won more Pride in the Job Quality Awards than any other housebuilder, showing its long-term commitment to building high quality homes.
These awards, now in their 41st year, rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.
Jay said: “This is my second Quality and Seal of Excellence Award; it’s such a fantastic achievement for myself and the team I have around me. It goes to show all the hard work and commitment really does pay off and I would like to thank all of my team and sub-contractors along with everyone else involved.”
Daniel Smith, managing director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, said: “These awards showcase only the best new homes and well-run sites, and I am delighted that Jay has achieved a Seal of Excellence at the Pride in the Job Awards for the second year in a row. By winning, it demonstrates that we are building some of the highest quality homes in the country. No other housebuilder can match our record at the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality awards.”
These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded 5 stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated 5 star means that more than 90 per cent of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt Developments being the only major national housebuilder to be rated 5 star for 12 years in a row.
