Hollie O'Brien

Yorkshire based PR and marketing agency, The Big Bamboo Agency, has added another key member to its expanding team.

Hollie O’Brien, a marketing professional with over seven years’ industry experience, has been appointed as the firm’s head of PR – she joins from twentysix.

In her new role Hollie, who studied marketing and PR at the University of Huddersfield, will take a leading role in creating and shaping new digital PR campaigns for the agency’s clients. She will also focus on traditional PR methods, that are more suited to certain clients, in certain sectors.

Nicola Stamford, The Big Bamboo Agency’s owner and founder, said: “Hollie’s appointment marks another key milestone in our ambitious growth plan.

“Hollie has worked for two well-respected digital agencies, and in her combined seven years with them has gained a wealth of experience in the ever-evolving world of digital PR.

“Her experience will be invaluable as we create PR campaigns and online content for our clients, ensuring they and their services get noticed by existing and future customers.”

Hollie said: “I’m delighted to have joined The Big Bamboo Agency as its Head of PR, and to be working with Nicola and the wider team. This opportunity was one I couldn’t miss, as the agency is on such an exciting journey, and it didn’t take long to get a sense of the incredible passion within the team.

“It is important now that brands are at the forefront of consumers’ minds, levelling up on their PR and marketing to have a long-lasting impact.

“I’m now looking forward to bringing the experiences I have learned to The Big Bamboo Agency and working with its clients to shape their PR strategies.”

Hollie’s first role after graduating was that of a digital campaign strategist with a Harrogate-based digital marketing agency.

She then joined Leeds-based agency twentysix digital, with sister agencies in London and New York, as senior campaign manager.

During her six years there, she has twice acted as Head of Content and Communications (maternity cover), leading an award-winning team and delivering work for market leading brands.
