Balcony and balustrade business strengthens management team

Marc Parker and Ryan Nolan

Leeds and Bradford-based balcony and balustrade manufacturer and installer, Bear Metals Ltd has strengthened its management team with two new hires.

Marc Parker has been appointed as general manager with Ryan Nolan joining the team as IT manager.

Marc joins from Novaglaze Gardner & Newton Ltd, where he spent a decade in a variety of management roles from quantity engineer to operations and technical manager. Marc brings a wealth of experience and will oversee the day to day business operations from sales to transport and customer relations. He will also support the MD in developing growth strategies and manage staff.

Ryan Nolan joins as IT Manager. Ryan founded his own company RN Development in 2012 providing turnkey web solutions to the commercial market. Bear Metals partnered with Ryan in 2017 to provide web solutions for the company’s expanding operations. Ryan now joins the Bear Metals team full time and he will be responsible for co-ordinating, planning and leading computer-related activities across the business.

Founded by young entrepreneur Simon Mitchell in 2017 the award-winning company has seen rapid growth since launch and these latest appointments support the company’s ongoing development strategy.

MD Simon Mitchell saw a gap in the domestic homes market for design-led, high quality handcrafted products and the business is enjoying unprecedented success in this sector. The company now has its sights firmly set on securing more commercial contracts through its holding company SM Industries, set up in 2020, which is also enjoying some early successes.

Simon Mitchell, MD, Bear Metals Ltd, said: “We are delighted to welcome Marc and Ryan to our growing team. We have ambitious plans to expand both our domestic business and secure more commercial contracts, so these latest appointments will support this continued strategy. Marc and Ryan bring both expertise and a breadth of experience to the business at an exciting time in the company’s development.”
