Luxury Harrogate travel agent to double pre-pandemic turnover in prime new location

Ventur Luxury Travel

A Harrogate-based travel agent is taking advantage of the luxury tourism boom, as it rebrands and relocates to larger premises on Montpellier Parade as the average value per booking more than doubles from 2019 (£3.7k) to 2022 (£8.1k).

In its move to the prestigious town centre location – a stone’s throw from Valley Gardens – Ventur Luxury Travel accelerates its growth plans by becoming more accessible to customers.

The travel agent, formerly known as Traveltalk and based on Leeds Road, has tripled its store footprint and has ambitions to double its 2019 turnover in the next 12 months as the industry bounces back following the pandemic.

Founded in Harrogate more than 35 years ago, Ventur Luxury Travel specialises in opulent package holidays tailored to customers’ needs, from bespoke honeymoons to solo adventure holidays and family beach escapes.

Led by Katherine Scott, the team are known to go the extra mile for customers, from expertly tailoring package holidays to arranging personalised in-destination touches such as must-have experiences and insider restaurant recommendations.  They’re also experts in making the most specialist and exclusive arrangements such as private air charter, yachts, and concierge services.

For 2022 bookings, the Ventur Luxury Travel team have revealed that Dubai and Oman – along with the Caribbean and Maldives – have been the most popular destinations through to April due to the low level of entry requirements and warm winter climates.

Closer to home, Europe continues to be a popular choice for summer sun, with Greece and its chic islands currently taking the crown for 2022, accounting for a third (33.3 per cent) of all bookings to date– compared to 2.5 per cent in 2019.

Katherine Scott, manager at Ventur Luxury Travel in Harrogate, said: “It’s no secret that 2020 and 2021 were challenging years for the travel industry, but we’re proud to make such a statement with this move. We couldn’t be happier to call Montpellier Parade our new home and to celebrate with the people of Harrogate. According to ABTA, we’re 30 per cent more likely to book with a travel professional now than before the pandemic and, with customers planning well into 2022, we’re delighted to be in an even more central location for people looking to make special memories next year.”

Backed by the Evans family of the Evans Property Group in Leeds, the travel agent is part of the Ventur Group, which also includes the firm’s corporate travel arm. Focusing on business, professional sport and group travel via its Leeds and Edinburgh offices, this too underwent a rebrand in spring 2021, to better communicate the consultative service it provides to its customers.

Paul Millington, CEO of Ventur Group, said: “It’s an exciting time for Ventur Luxury Travel and the increase in customer enquiries we’ve seen over the Winter period has proven that the appetite to travel is there. The move to Montpellier Parade is really exciting because we’ll be even better placed to create dream travel experiences for clients.

“After losing $6tn during the pandemic, the travel industry has been faced with the challenge of navigating an uncertain future. However, with strong financial backing and a loyal customer base, we’re bucking the trend by providing an impeccable holiday booking experience for our customers.”
