Budding designers prove prize guys in Skipton estate agency initiative

Helen Carter presents Julian and Charlie with their winning gifts

People buying or renting a new home across Craven will find a special greeting awaiting them as they move in – thanks to the design skills of two young schoolchildren.

Skipton estate agency, Dale Eddison, turned to children at Greatwood Community Primary School for help in creating a “Welcome to your new home” card to hand out to all its house movers.

The winning artwork was designed by Charlie Adey, from Year 5; while Julian Majchrzak, from Year 6, came up with the strapline.

As well as seeing their winning design gracing the cover of these move-in cards, the duo also won a Kindle and a football.

The competition was the latest initiative in the growing partnership between the school and Dale Eddison. Last year, the agency linked up to provide its pupils with eye-catching new sports vests.

Dale Eddison’s Skipton branch manager, Helen Carter, said: “We were impressed by the artistic skills of all the children who took part – there are clearly a number of budding designers showcasing their talents at the school!

“Charlie’s striking design and Julian’s wonderful words really caught our eye and we hope they enjoy seeing their classroom efforts now in print, and welcoming all our movers into their new homes.”

She added: “We are always looking for ways to offer grass-roots support to charities and good causes across the community.

“As part of this, we’re committed to supporting local schools and are thrilled to be working in partnership with the children of Greatwood.”

“As an independent Yorkshire-based agency, we are proud of our strong roots and always welcome the opportunity of giving something back to the community whenever we can.

“This is why we have also re-launched our ‘Give Back Scheme’ as part of the Greatwood partnership. For every person that is associated with the school, who chooses to sell a property through us, we will donate £250 to school funds upon completion of the sale of their property.”
