New hire at Ellers Farm Distillery

Nick Spencer

Ellers Farm Distillery, located in North Yorkshire, has announced the hire of Nick Spencer, joining the team as Head of Export as the brand continues on its strong growth trajectory.

Nick has a wealth of experience in the role, having worked with various alcohol producers across the globe for the past 20 years including Snow Queen Vodka, Calibre Brands, Aztec Spirits and World Duty Free as well as establishing alcohol import companies in New York City and Houston Texas, before returning to the UK last year.

Nick’s main focus will be evaluating potential export markets and importers, to help Ellers Farm Distillery achieve its ambitious goals of being an internationally renowned beverage brand within the next 5 years.

Nick will also be exploring partnerships with likeminded export brands who share Ellers Farm Distillery’s sustainability principals of balancing people, profit and the planet, to ensure the company’s supply chain continues to be carbon neutral.

Nick said: “I am thrilled to be starting my new role with Ellers Farm Distillery. It’s great to be back in Yorkshire, where I’m originally from, and to find a company here that shouts ‘quality’, ‘honesty’ and ‘the best’ in everything they do.

“As Ellers Farm Distillery is a start-up, whilst I need to build my own foundations, it gives me the freedom to feel like the world is my oyster. The family atmosphere in the distillery is fantastic, the people are all supportive, genuine and there is a real sense that we are all helping each other as best we can. It’s an awesome opportunity and a great challenge.”

“It also feels good to be working for a company that is socially and environmentally conscious. It’s clear that more and more consumers are demanding that producers are environmentally responsible when making their purchasing decisions so being carbon-neutral from day one, rather than in retrospect, really sets us up as a decent and honest company in the eye of the consumer.

Nick’s appointment comes following the successful launch their first ever product, Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka, which has been created with two aims in mind: to make the world’s best vodka and do it in the most sustainable and ethical manner, in line with Ellers Farm Distillery’s sustainable ethos. Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka’s successful launch saw it secure key nationwide listings in over 220 Waitrose stores and in Asda stores nationwide as part of their Nurture programme.

The state-of-the-art distillery is located near the historic village of Stamford Bridge in North Yorkshire, with the multi-million-pound investment set to offer sustainable and diversified employment for the region via the soon-to-be-open Visitor Centre and tourist attraction while pushing the boundaries of sustainable drinks production in the industry.
