Barratt Developments Yorkshire West is continuing to show its support to Leeds based children’s cancer charity, Candlelighters after raising over £34,000.

The local homebuilder has supported Candlelighters for five years and have raised money directly through a range of activities which include donate a day activities and and sponsored marathons.

Candlelighters is a non-profit charity which supports children and their families who are affected by childhood cancer in Yorkshire. The charity funds crucial research in childhood cancers and supports families in a variety of different ways including offering holidays, providing home from home accommodation, and providing support and wellbeing services.

This year the team from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West are completing even more activities to show it’s support for Candlelighters, including the Ale Trail, a boat race and the redecoration of Waverley House, which provides home from home accommodation for families with a child being treated for cancer at Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Chris Salt, partnerships manager from Candlelighters, said: “We are so grateful for the ongoing support from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West. We rely on generous donations and encouragement from local people and businesses to ensure we can continue to offer the much needed support that families across Yorkshire require, so we thank the whole team for their immeasurable support.”

David Coe, land director from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, said: “We are delighted to be able to continue supporting Candlelighters. The charity supports children with cancer and their families 365 days a year, so we are determined to offer as much support as possible to ensure they can continue to deliver their exceptional services.”
