Jones Myers named leading matrimonial finance firm in Yorkshire

The latest Legal 500 rankings consolidates Jones Myers standing as ‘the leading matrimonial finance firm in Yorkshire, with outstanding individuals and unparalleled strength and depth’.
The niche family law firm has sustained its top tier Legal 500 listing for over two decades. It is also the only family law practice in the top tier of its category with a York office in the 2023 guide which covers Leeds, West Yorkshire, and North Yorkshire.
Praising the firm’s ‘first-rate reputation,’ the report gives special mention to seven of its specialist lawyers.
Managing partner, Richard Peaker, who heads the Financial Remedies team is named as Leading Individual along with partner, Kate Banerjee, who heads the Children’s Department.
Partner Nicki Mitchell, head of the firm’s York office which has recently expanded into larger premises in The Quadrant, Bootham Row, is praised as ‘a highly regarded mediator’ while fellow partner Elizabeth Bell is lauded for her excellent reputation in financial remedies.
Partner Anthony Parrish is named by the guide as a Next Generation Lawyer who is sought-after in child abduction while senior solicitor, Julie Simpson, is singled out for her manner with young and vulnerable people.
Also given a special mention is Jones Myers in-house counsel Andrew Fox who is commended for his extensive experience in offshore trust structures.

Retaining its Family Law Firm of the year North award in the Family Law Awards across 2020-2022, Jones Myers is the only Yorkshire-based family law firm in the national finals of the awards’ Children Law Team of the Year category. The winners will be announced in November.
The practice, whose headquarters are in Leeds, also has offices in Harrogate, and marks its thirtieth anniversary this year.
