Frame – the West-Yorkshire based technology and data science business – has been appointed by Halfords and MPB to deliver a series of projects over the coming months.

These wins follow the recent news that Frame is set to hit £1m in revenues by the end of the next financial year for the first time.

The agency will be working with Halfords, which is the UK’s largest retailer of motoring and cycling products and services, on improving the quality of its imagery based on key data extraction using its bespoke Better Images service.

Better Images analyses a client’s current set of images and scores them out of 100 based on sales impact. Centred on that data, it then improves the imagery automatically without the need for reshooting which ultimately drives conversions and reduces cart abandonment.

Frame conducted an initial targeted proof of concept phase for Halfords over the summer and the resulting analysis will now be rolled out and implemented across all of its bike categories.

MPB is the world’s largest online platform for used photography and videography equipment. As the global leader in used kit inventory, MPB set the market benchmark for kit pricing.

Working alongside MPB’s internal pricing team over an initial six-month term, Frame has been tasked with developing MPB’s global pricing strategy further to ensure the right kit is always available at the right price across the 350,000 items traded annually.

Frame was established in 2020 by Liam Fulton and Hannah Bratley. It is a technology and data science business that is headquartered in Slaithwaite but works with clients across the UK and internationally.

Its team of end-to-end data experts, who include engineers, scientists and developers, work across two core divisions: Consultancy and Solutions. The business is also currently developing a brand-new image optimisation product for the e-commerce sector which will come to market in Q1 2023.

Liam Fulton, co-founder and CTO, said: “Despite the uncertain times we are all facing, e-commerce retailers like Halfords recognise the importance of generating high-quality product images to improve their sales performances.

“This can only be achieved through sound data extraction and implementation. Our focus is now on adding value to Halfords and MPB as we approach the all-important Christmas selling period.”
