Yorkshire Baker renews sponsorship of Malton Food Lovers Festival

The The Yorkshire Baker team
Malton’s much-loved Food Lovers Festival returns for a second time this year over the August Bank Holiday weekend (27-29), with tens of thousands of festival goers expected to attend this summer’s second helping of foodie fun in Yorkshire’s food capital.
Returning to sponsor the festival Main Stage this August is Yorkshire Baker, Malton based producer of handcrafted artisan pies, pastries and sausage rolls.
The award-winning manufacturer prides itself on its local roots and ethos of doing things properly; everything from sourcing of ingredients to the resting of pastry is treated like you would at home with a superior end result and showstopping centrepieces always on the menu.
Not only will Yorkshire Baker be sponsoring the Main Stage, but they will also be opening and closing the Festival Main Stage with delicious demonstrations from the innovation team.
Plus, back by popular demand, the sponsor is once again working in partnership with Malton gem, The Cook’s Place, to run a series of pop-ups across the whole festival weekend.
The 30-minute long demonstrations will run from Malton’s stylish cookery school from 12pm until 4pm over all three days. Festivalgoers will be given a step by step guide to creating the ultimate Pork Wellington and will of course be treated to a taster at the end of the sessions.
Visitors to the Yorkshire Baker stall can also get their hands on Christmas party food favourite, mini beef wellingtons, as well as the ever-popular chunky sausage rolls teamed with a bespoke cider ketchup lovingly created just for the event.
The team at Circular Malton can also be found at Yorkshire Baker’s stand over the Bank Holiday weekend, chatting to festivalgoers about their fantastic planet-positive initiatives to help Malton and the surrounding areas become more sustainable.
What’s more, the Yorkshire Baker innovation team will be continuing their search for the next Mary Berry with their PIEdea competition. They’ll be asking festival goers to stop by their stall to submit their dream pie filling suggestions, with the chance of the best innovation being brought to life.
Leah Mackereth, HR manager at Yorkshire Baker, said: “As a Malton-based business, here at Yorkshire Baker we’re absolutely committed to sourcing the very best ingredients from local farmers and collaborating with other Yorkshire businesses as much as possible.
“That’s why we’re immensely proud to be renewing our sponsorship of the Malton Food Lovers Festival for a second time running and working with the likes of Circular Malton to help give back to the local area.
“We had great fun at the Spring Food Lovers Festival back in June where we sampled our delicious mini pies and met lots of fellow pastry-fanatics – we can’t wait to come back this August Bank Holiday weekend and do it all over again! It’s time to dust off our aprons…”
Tom Naylor-Leyland, director of Visit Malton, said: “We are so thrilled that Yorkshire Baker has decided to return to sponsor the Main Stage for our August instalment of the Malton Food Lovers Festival.
“It’s the generosity of local brands such as Yorkshire Baker which helps to make the festival the success that it is and we are very grateful for their support, enthusiasm, and of course, shared love of food! I personally can’t wait to see what Yorkshire Baker has in store for our festival goers this August Bank Holiday weekend – you better arrive hungry!”
The Summer Malton Food Lovers Festival is free to attend with designated festival Park & Ride car parks operating (at a small parking charge). The Park and Ride service will be available at each entrance to Malton from the A64, with a regular free shuttle bus service direct to the event entrance.
Malton is also accessible via public transport with train services to the town from York and Scarborough (we advise to check for service disruptions before travelling) and Malton is also on the award winning Coastliner bus route.
