Thirteen apprentices from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have marked graduating from the leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist’s apprenticeship scheme at a special graduation ceremony.

Isaac Naylor, Georgia Cunningham, Matthew Thornton, Harry Whyte, Tom Frankland, Elliott Wilson, Nathan Dixon, Charlie Amos, Monica Neill, Oliver Athorn, Vincent Klimjack, Georgia Cave-Hawkes and Tomasz Krygowski celebrated completing their apprenticeships at the graduation ceremony, which took place at the Park Plaza in Leeds.

The graduation ceremony was the first one Jet2.com and Jet2holidays had ever held for their apprentices.

The high-flying group of apprentices from across Marketing, IT, Operations Control, and Engineering all passed their apprenticeships first time and, since gaining their qualifications, have now secured permanent positions with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

At the graduation ceremony, the apprentices were recognised and presented with their certificates by CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy. Also in attendance were the apprentices’ friends and family, HR director of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Miriam D’souli, and colleagues from across the businesses.

As well as having their hard work rewarded at the certificate presentation, the ceremony also included speeches from Steve Heapy and Miriam D’souli, as well as a selection of apprentices who shared their journey and experience of completing an apprenticeship.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to see thirteen of our apprentices graduate from our apprenticeship scheme and to be marking this important milestone. The graduation ceremony is the culmination of many years hard work and dedication, and the apprentices should be extremely proud of all they have achieved.”

He added: “We would like to congratulate the apprentices on their achievements and look forward to seeing them continue their professional careers at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. A special mention should be made to Isaac Naylor who we are incredibly proud of for winning the Yorkshire and Humber National Apprenticeship Awards and being shortlisted as a finalist in the 2022 National Apprenticeship Awards in London.

“It has been a pleasure to see our apprentices develop over the course of their apprenticeships, and I am confident that they all have a fantastic and bright future ahead of them. Our apprentices are extremely important to the ongoing success and growth of our businesses, and we are continuing to grow our apprenticeship programme next year, while investing in our colleagues.”

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are continuing to grow their apprenticeship scheme and are expanding their programme for 2023, with apprentice positions available across Customer Service, HR, Finance, Marketing, IT, Operations Control, Planning, Ground Operations, Overseas, and Product.

The apprenticeships give apprentices the opportunity to gain practical work experience, essential skills, and a professional qualification all while they earn. This expansion of their apprenticeship programme for this year ensures that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays employs a highly motivated team with the skills the companies need to support their growth.

Jet2.com was named as the number one airline in the Best Places to Work in the UK in 2022, according to Glassdoor. With an overall satisfaction rating of 4.2 out of 5 for workplace experiences, Jet2.com was the only airline to appear in the top 50 list, ranking at number 43.
