Sheffield-based postural support specialist Jenx and its UK distribution division Jiraffe are supporting the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal.
Jenx is allowing Cash for Kids to use the electric charging point at its premises on Herries Road free of charge, powering the electric van supplied by Burrows Motor Company which is used to transport donated gifts for the appeal.
Mission Christmas is an annual appeal organised by Cash for Kids, a charity which helps to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. The aim is for every child to have at least one gift to open on Christmas Day.
Lee Fletcher, Cash for Kids Charity Fundraising Executive, said: “Our Mission Christmas toy appeal is underway, and this year is going to be a real struggle for a lot of families.
“Thank you so much to the team at Jenx. Using the electric chargers means we can charge our van overnight and our driver can travel around South Yorkshire and Derbyshire collecting gifts with a full charge every morning.
“We want to help as many disadvantaged children as possible wake up to a gift on Christmas Day. We could not do the work we do without the kindness and generosity of local businesses and the public.”
Jenx and Jiraffe have previously supported the appeal as part of their pledge to support local charities. Cash for Kids is a charity supported by Hallam FM, whose studio is next door to the Jenx premises.
Dan Limb, Jenx Director, said: “We know through our work to support children with disabilities that not everyone wakes up to a present at Christmas. That’s why we have supported Mission Christmas for several years because we want to do our bit to help ensure that every child has a Christmas present to open.
“This small gesture will make a big difference to the hard-working people who collect donations from across the region and we are delighted to be able to help.”
