East Yorkshire poultry business welcomes new recruits

East Yorkshire poultry supplier Soanes Poultry has appointed two new staff members to support the growing business.
The Middleton-on-the-Wolds based business’s team has been boosted by the appointment of factory manager, Chris Deakin and sales cCo-ordinator, Tammy McDonald.
Mr Deakin joins Soanes Poultry from the sea fish industry and is responsible for all aspects of the factory including production, labour, yield and driving continuous improvement.
He said: “It’s great to work for a family business that has not lost sight of the high standards set by the founder, Tom Soanes over 70 years ago.”
Miss McDonald joins the poultry business from Yorkshire wholesaler Turner Price and her role includes co-ordinating national and regional sales and providing a sales link between the production and dispatch functions.
Soanes Poultry’s managing director Nigel Upson said: “It’s wonderful to welcome our newest team members and we hope this is the start of a long and happy career with Soanes Poultry.
“It’s a very exciting time to join us as there are lots of plans in the pipeline, including phase two of our £1.6m factory expansion. We are always looking at ways to drive our business forward and these new appointments will help us to improve operational efficiencies and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
Soanes Poultry is a family owned business which has been rearing and preparing chicken for over 70 years. It employs over 100 people and sells its chicken to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers nationwide.
