East Yorkshire chicken business’s triple delight

A Yorkshire Wolds poultry company is celebrating after retaining its BRC certification and learning that it has been shortlisted for two awards.

The team at Middleton on the Wolds business, Soanes Poultry has retained its AA grade status against Issue 8 of the BRC certification programme that is globally recognised as a benchmark for food safety management systems and best practice for product safety and quality.

In addition to the BRC success, Soanes Poultry has reached the final of the York Press Business Awards in the Large Business of the Year category and has been shortlisted in the Meat, Poultry and Seafood Manufacturing Company of the Year category of the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards 2020.

Soanes Poultry’s managing director Nigel Upson said: “Congratulations to the team for the part that they have played in the successful retention of our BRC AA grade status and reaching the final of these prestigious awards.”

Soanes Poultry is a family owned business which has been rearing and preparing chicken for over 70 years. It employs over 100 people and sells its chicken to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers nationwide.
