Pioneering leader in glass manufacturing, Specialist Glass Products (SGP), has been shortlisted for the Investment Award at the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards 2021.

The Yorkshire family-run business has gone through a large-scale investment programme over the last 48 months, with a combined investment of £6m.

SGP has extended the manufacturing area from 30,000 sq ft to 72,000 sq ft and equipped the new facility with the latest state-of-the-art machinery, allowing them to process, cut, toughen, bend and laminate glass up to 6000mm x 3210mm.

The new high-tech equipment and additional working space have effectively quadrupled the company’s production capacity, ensuring that the firm can not only meet the requirements of larger projects but can also produce glass most cost-effectively.

With tremendous growth and development over the past 12-months, the specialist glass manufacturer is among four companies shortlisted for the Investment Award.

Andrew Taylor, managing director at Specialist Glass Products, said: “We are delighted to be recognised in the Investment category! As a team, we are committed to research and development to ensure we provide the best possible services for our clients. ”

“Although the pandemic brought much uncertainty to many businesses, our ongoing investment into the firm’s operations enabled us to meet increasing demands, contributing to regional economic growth.”

TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire editor, Ben Ormsby said: “We were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of entries for this year’s awards, with many demonstrating resilience and forward-thinking in the face of the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

“The judges had some very tough decisions to make over the shortlist, as the competition was extremely high.”

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 14, at the Queens Hotel, Leeds.
